A: Life Plan Community, formerly called Continuing Care Retirement Community, is a community that provides plan in place—the security of the safety net provided by the availability of healthcare. That means Independent Living apartments for vital, active seniors, Assisted Living, Memory Support residences, and Skilled Nursing Care accommodations are all available in one community. The advantage to residents is that additional care is available if their medical condition changes.
Q: How do residents know what level of care is best for them?
A: Those considering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Skilled Nursing Care are assessed by our professional nursing staff. We work with residents and their families to create a plan offering the resident exactly the help they need to make life easier and safer and to help them be as independent as possible.
Q: Can residents move directly into Skilled Nursing Care?
A: Yes. Based on the availability of a private or semi-private room, Smith Village has a sterling reputation for superior healthcare and programs since 1924. Skilled Nursing Care Residents entering Smith Village can be confident that we will fulfill our promise to support all who live here with tender loving care and exceptional healthcare services.
Q: What are the costs involved in moving to Smith Village?
A: Independent Living Residents pay a one-time entrance fee that is 90 percent refundable should they decide to move or is payable to their estate. There also is a monthly fee that covers utilities (except phone), two meals a day, maintenance and housekeeping, and more.
Assisted Living and Memory Support residents pay a monthly fee based on the services they need and the size of their apartment.
